My students need 1 portable air conditioner in our classroom. The way we're positioned in the building, we get the brunt of the Sun and our space turns into a sauna daily.

My Students
We serve a fun group of inner-city students with severe disabilities at a middle school in San Francisco who love life, learning, and getting out and around the city.
We've got students who've made great gains in academics over the years, but more importantly, we've done our part in creating happy and holistically developed human beings who know themselves, and are on the way to finding their place in society as young adults.
But...our room is so hot! We need an AC!
My Project
The product I am requesting for my students already has a "home." In other words, I know exactly where it will go. We just need your help in getting it through the door! The portable air conditioner will be placed in the front of the classroom and used to cool down the entire class during direct instruction, when we are working on projects, and more. Instead of being so drained of energy (all they can do is put their head down when it's too hot), students will be up and alert, and ready to engage. When needed, the AC will be moved to parts of the room that need it more, so that the entire classroom community benefits.
The donations to this project will help keep my students healthy, alert, energetic, and ready to learn.
By creating a classroom that is actually comfortable and more safe (especially for my students who are susceptible to seizures in warmer weather) my students will begin to see themselves as value members of the school community worthy of such an accommodation. We will use this product to continue educating learners with some of the most intense needs, as we've been doing in the room for over a decade.
As the teacher, I am very in tune with how the classroom environment can impact learning, so I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
