This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

What don't I love about my students? My students are special because they are eager to learn new things. They are always looking for an opportunity to show they have grit in life and in the classroom.

My students feed off the enthusiasm and positive nature in our classroom.

My Project

As we return for the remainder of the school year, I have noticed a few things that could help my students be more successful.

During our math units, we have circled back to the number line as a strategy repeatedly.

I wanted the students to each have their own number line to prove their math thinking.

I also would like to redo their literacy centers so that they can easily access the resources to practice comprehension, vocabulary, and phonics skills. The bins will be number and aligned to help them navigate successfully thru our literacy block of 210 minutes. I see success, we just have to keep giving them the tools to succeed.
