It's Time To Enjoy An English Novel

Help me give my students the book Front Desk so my middle school language learner will have a chance to enjoy an English novel.

My Project

My middle-grade ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) students have heard about this novel and are eager to read it. This novel tells a story about a young girl and her family when they first immigrated to the US from China. I am very excited that finally, there is a novel my students will find many similarities and enjoy reading.

Front Desk is a perfect book for my students because there is so much in the book they can relate to.

The goal for this reading project was to help my students put all of their hard-learned language skills together to enjoy a piece of literature in English that they can relate to. Students will also increase vocabulary and background knowledge throughout the reading and improve reading and comprehension skills.
