Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My creative and inspiring students attend a low-income school, where there are few additional funds for extra resources. A large population of the students at my school are English language learners. Many of them enter school below grade level in reading, writing, and math. They are all eager and excited to come to school and work hard every day to improve, but often are without the resources they need both at school and at home. Your donations will help support my students as they work towards mastery each day!

My Project

My students need a new Qball, throwable microphone, to help make classroom discussions fun and engaging! A big goal in 3rd grade is to help students begin to have academic, debatable, and compelling discussions around important content. We practice how to respectively agree, disagree, and question each other's thoughts and opinions. We also talk about how it's so important for every voice in the room to be heard. The Qball will help students who are sometimes hesitant to share, feel more excited and willing to be a part of our classroom discussions. The Qball will also help our class respect our expectations of "one voice at a time." I am excited to see how the Qball helps to transform our classroom!
