It's Time to Clean Up...Our Music Room

Help me give my students an organized music room. Our room is overrun with stage decorations and equipment and we are in need of storage bins to hold everything.

My Project

Throughout the year, our music department hosts performances that include five different grade level musicals, two chorus concerts, and one string concert. Each year, we try and rotate shows that each grade level completes. This allows students the ability to learn something new and gives the families something new to watch between their children. We are currently storing items for 20 different performances, and are always looking to expand. Students are excited to perform on a decorated stage and families look forward to attending. In addition to our musical shows, our stage is used for talent shows, international nights, sixth grade graduations, PTO sponsored events, and many celebrations. These events help our school community grow and bond as one.

We are out of space to store our show props and stage decorations, with many of the items scattered in random places in the music room.

With your help, the storage bins will be used to store costumes, our larger decorations, and student props. Since these bins are black, they will allow us to store materials on the side of our stage and not be seen during a show. Once our storage bins are here, students will be able to utilize their time in the music room more effectively. They will have easier access to instruments which will allow more than one student at a time to retrieve items need. Also, extra floor space will be freed to allow us the opportunity to move freely and safely without running into others. This will enhance the environment in our classroom and be reflected in our shows on stage.
