Help me give my students a class set of calculators to help with our studies in Algebra 1. These new TI 84 CE Graphing calculators will offer students a new way to work with problems.
My classes vary from Algebra 1 to Algebra 2. I have a small set of calculators, but an additional 4 will open up the option for every student in my class to have access to a calculator. I am actively incorporating S.T.E.M. education into my classes to open doors for students after graduation.
Being a small rural school, we are limited in resources and one resource is calculators for High School math.
The students want to learn and explore more in the S.T.E.M. fields, but we are very limited due to the amount of technology we currently have. The students in my classes are from low income families, many who receive state aided help in some way, and many of them are unable to afford a graphing calculator to use in school. With this set of 4 calculators to add to the small number my class already has, it opens up projects and assignments students can create and explore for S.T.E.M., and other Math education related topics.

Encouraging students to explore this field of education will open up their eyes to understanding that the skills and knowledge in each field of study are essential for student success, but also because these fields are deeply intertwined in the real world and in how students learn most effectively.
