My Students

My classroom is full of little learners that take the world in like a sponge! Each day they come to school ready to learn about the world they live in. Our school can not afford to supply the subscriptions for "Time for Kids" as a supplement to our Kindergarten Social Studies curriculum. We are a small, rural community where students typically see the world as only what is physically close to them. They deserve to experience more of their world from which 'Time for Kids' could provide.

My Project

By having their own issue of "Time for Kids", my students would be able to interact with the paper copy supplied to each one of them while following along with the digital copy that comes with the subscription. We currently share a subscription with another classroom which means many "well-used" magazines when it's our turn to use them. The children are unable to write on them or take them home because of sharing the subscription. There are many important activities on the last page of each issue that the children can do to reinforce the skills and information provided. By taking the issue home, families can see and hear about the current issue from my excited Kindergarten students!

They should get the opportunity to see the world beyond their classroom walls.

Everyone receives their own issue to take home and share with their family.
