My Students
As a teacher in a high poverty school district, I work with students that are faced with challenges in and outside the classroom. Despite the challenges my students face, they persevere. My students are high energy, communicative, and enthusiastic learners. They have a lot of energy and are always looking for a fun way to learn. They love to get involved with the lesson in whatever way possible.
My students love to show off their work and teach their peers.
They are excited to teach each other, both in groups and in front of the class. My students are visual learners. They love to use different resources in the room to show learning strategies to their friends. The students are a great group of mathematicians, scientists, writers, and artists.
My Project
Time For Kids is an amazing non-fiction recourse that allows my students to learn about current events both in the United States and around the world. Our classroom lacks up to date non-fiction resources and Time For Kids helps fill this void. Time For Kids not only offers articles at an appropriate reading level for my students but also provides support material that aligns with the Language Arts curriculum.
Time For Kids is filled with engaging articles that cover a wide subject range, these articles create great conversations in the room and make amazing research projects.
A Time For Kids subscription allows each student to have a copy, this allows students to take notes right on the page without worrying about sharing with someone else. Two class sets of Time For Kids allows for more students to experience Time For Kids while still having access to the same educational resources (that Time For Kids supplies) as the first group of students.
