Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are high energy, creative, funny, and curious and they deserve a high quality education. Most of our students are participating in medical programs, but are struggling to pass English Language Arts. Ninety-Five percent of our students receive free lunch and our graduation rate has dropped significantly over the past year. We can't fail these kids. It is my mission to help our students graduate with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful. One part of making our students successful is to have a fun, relaxing environment for them to learn and grow in.

My Project

These supplies will make a difference in my student's learning, because they will no longer need to wait in long lines at the library to print. They can save time by printing their work in class, which translates to more time for learning. Additionally, the headphone adapter will enable me to play soothing music for my students, which will help them to get in the proper mental space for learning. Lastly, my students will be able to listen to educational podcasts. These podcasts will add an additional learning resource to further engage my students. These supplies may seem simple, but they will go a long way to making a difference in our classroom.
