My students need motherboard, operating system, power supply, sound card, network adapter, malware, graphics card, processor and ATX to rebuild our broken computer
My scholars are enthusiastic third graders who have a love for learning. They attend a Title 1 school that is in a low economic area.
My scholars are grateful for the unique opportunities that are provided to them.
I know that rebuilding our old computer will be a magical experience for any eight year old; like diving into a book for the first time. My scholars are now reading to learn, but also learning how to love and appreciate what reading has to offer. Many of my scholars do not have access to many books that are on their level so I would like to give my scholars a new experience of rebuilding a broken computer in our classroom.
My Project
I am asking for a motherboard, Windows operating system, power supply, adapter and several other parts to rebuild an old computer sitting in our classroom. More of my scholars will then have access to any leveled book imaginable. Research has shown that students gain a love of reading by having access to the genre, authors, and titles that they enjoy most.
It is also important for students to have access and learn how to use technology. My scholars will be able to use the computer during independent learning practice, math, social studies and science.
I believe that this project will positively impact my scholars.
My scholars will be able to not only practice their reading skills, but also acquire information of rebuilding and updating technology! I know my scholars will greatly appreciate having access to another computer in the classroom. The updated computer will impact learners learning for years to come.
