My students need vital study materials prior to the tests, and the granola bars & peppermints on test day. With them, my students will ace the Citizenship, Constitution, EOC, and AP Government tests.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a high poverty, low income urban school with a strong minority student population. We are a college prep school, which emphasizes students to continue their education at two and four year colleges or universities. However, we have lagged behind in the technology department for quite some time.
My students have come through for me year after year in terms of hitting district goals.
I am doing my best to come through for them, by finding any and every possible way to increase engagement and meet our goals.
My Project
It's been a long year, and the testing season is upon us. This is the time of the year we ask our students to deliver and demonstrate their knowledge and growth from the past school year. My students are taking the US Constitution Test, Citizenship Test, ACT, and American Government end-of-course test in Missouri.
My students need vital supplies to prepare for the test, both academically and nutritionally.
I am asking for key readings for study guides to prepare. On test day, I'm asking for granola bars as many of my students come to school hungry from homes with little to no support. I am asking for peppermints to keep them alert and stimulated during the test.
