My students need more technology tools. In order to do research on the computers, they need headphones that work. Also, a speaker for class videos would be great. An iPad would help all my students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an enthusiastic, imaginative group of fourth graders. They are living in an inner-city community. Many are living in shelters. Some are English Language Learners and others have an Individualized Educational Plan. There are many students who have repeated a grade. Most face challenges both inside and outside of school on a daily basis. Despite these challenges, they love learning. They work hard every day, in school and at home. They work with classmates to problem solve. They have goals and are working hard to achieve them.
My Project
Students would be able to use the iPad daily, either in groups, pairs or individually. This would enable them to read online, to practice basic skills, and play various educational and fun games.
Technology engages them.
Having individual headphones to use daily and care for would help them stay focused. Very few of the headphones that we now have work. This would be a welcome addition to our technology cache. Watching a video is problematic because our plugin speakers often do not work, or are not loud enough.
My students would welcome these additions to our classroom. It would make learning more fun.
