My students are incredible. I have twenty-four, motivated, English Language Learners who are eager to learn. My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds with limited resources available to them. We are a Title I, Performance Improvement School with a one hundred percent free lunch program. Many parents work two jobs and are struggling to support their families.
Though their environment may not be conducive to learning, my students have an insatiable love of learning.
I know that if we provide them with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they can experience success.
Even though I am a veteran teacher, it's always important to change with the times. The change this year is that we will incorporate STEAM activities that relate to the environment. STEAM education is multi-discipline based where teachers can construct a learning environment where students are given the opportunity to experience, talk, debate, discover, design, create, and build. I want to find downloads that are differentiated for all levels. This year I would like to integrate my lessons more with science and the environment as my focus. There are fabulous downloads that teachers can access on TeachersPayTeachers, that is why I am requesting a gift card.
Change makes you smarter and if things never changed, you’d never learn anything new.
And every time you learn a new skill — even if it’s just how to adapt — you are that much smarter than you were yesterday.
