This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In our classroom, we have 16 four-year-olds, and we love to move and learn! We are from a small school in a big city. We have multiple languages spoken in our classroom, and we all come from different backgrounds and various family sizes. In our classroom, we focus on becoming problem-solvers. We experiment, practice ideas and come to our own conclusions. For some, this comes very easily and for others, it takes more time, modeling, coaching and even adult assistance. In our classroom, we offer many opportunities for children to experience new things.
My Project
In Michigan, the winters get long when our outside time is cut short due to the cold weather. The children won't mind though when we have these great books to share with them!
What's better than getting cozy with hot cocoa and a story after playing in the snow?
These stories will be read again and again as the students fall in love with them and want to hear them over and over. Books are one of the number one things used in my classroom. We use them to learn about feelings, changes in the weather, holidays coming up, new experiences that are coming up and to introduce new topics.
