Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Living in my home state you get used to rainy days. Approximately 90% of my school's students walk to school, rain or shine. On rainy days umbrellas are collected in a bucket for students to claim at the end of the day. The students don't always remember their umbrellas.

Having plastic umbrella bags and a stand will allow the students to safely keep their umbrella with them.

No one wants to put a wet umbrella into their backpack. Carrying wet umbrellas is a safety hazard, with the umbrellas dripping on the floor.

Knowing my students come to school when it is raining, and knowing they will have their umbrella at the end of the day will keep the students in class and happy. They won't have an excuse to stay home any longer. Having extra umbrellas a student can borrow will make sure that my students know that I care about them and their safety.
