Help me give my students prizes for their birthdays. Distant learning is hard enough. These kids just want to celebrate their special day with their classmates.
During these difficult times, my students are as unsure as I am about the future. I want to give make them feel secure and know that even though we are not physically together I am there for them. My kids come from different socioeconomic levels. All the students at my school receive free meals. We have a large homeless population, with some students sleeping in cars. We have migrant families and many families living together.
We are going to work on catching up those students that have fallen behind.
I am not sure which grade I am going to be instructing yet but I know my kids will be excited to get back into the classroom. It is my job to make it engaging and have learning be fun for all.
My Project
Distance learning is tough for all kids. Especially when it is your special day and you cannot celebrate it with your closest friends. I want to give my students a birthday cup filled with goodies; to let them know we care. In the cups I am going to put something different like; a sticky hands, a scratchable bookmark, a toy, stuffed animal, or a colorful pen.
I'm going to use the colored paper so the other kids can make cards and the little boards we can use in class.
The shake and erase boards are a lot more fun than boring messy whiteboards. We will use the decorations to give each kid one balloon and I can decorate the background of the classroom. Even though they aren't there they can still see it during group time.
