Help me give my students an amazing educational experience through various online and traditional resources.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are scholars from an urban area in Savannah, GA. Many come from difficult situations and its my job as their teacher to help them explore all the best things in life right inside my four walls. My students have a lot to bring to the table. My classroom holds some of Savannah's finest talent and are in need of resources to help each student to be great!! I have the priveledge of housing some of Savannah most creative students.
I'm trying to set my students up for success and lately that has been a struggle due to lack of supplies.
I want to try a new system that allows for me to take my students to that next level academically. I love how much my students desire to grow their weaknesses. For many of my students that weakness is reading!! With the supplies requested, students needs can be met and they’ll be able to record their own progress!
My school has adopted an educational software that allows each student to be met where they are. In this software, there are several instructional audio/video elements that aide their understanding of the content being covered. I need a class set of headphones and folders because all of my students aren't able to bring their own.
The headphones will help my classroom in a major way because I will be able to split my class in half and have various small groups while other students are working on the computer getting the instruction needed for academic growth.
With this new added equipment, I'm also able to even differentiate instruction. I have many students who need to be read to for and also students who are simply slow and or level readers.
These materials will help me give much more help and remediation to my students. I could easily record myself reading a text, reteaching a standard and have students use the audio recordings based on their needs.
I want my students to show major growth this last stretch of the school year and with your help and this additional supplies, I know it can be done!
