My students are a group of fun, loving and creative individuals who have the whole world at their fingertips. Our class is made up of children with a variety of backgrounds and history which brings character to our classroom.
My students are ambitious, adventurous, considerate and witty.
Their willingness to try new things, explore the unknown and learn from their mistakes is admirable. The excitement and love they have for one another shows that school isn't just about learning how to solve math problems but also learning how to create life long friendships.
My Project
These stools will make a difference in my classroom because they will allow more students to join my table for additional classroom support. Currently, with the big clunky chairs we have, I am able only able to fit about 6 students comfortably.
With these slimmer, lighter and easy to tuck away stools, more students will be able to join us as we learn together!
A lot of learning takes place at my teacher table. I am working with students there numerous times throughout the day. It is my space to meet with students individually, listening and conferring with them as they read, as well as in a small group setting. Students visit me at my table for most subject areas: reading, writing and math. Working with students in a small group setting allows for me to see where students need additional support and it provides a setting where they feel comfortable enough to ask for help. Having additional stools at this table will give more students the opportunity to seek help when needed. It is also a a quiet space for students to move to if they are feeling distracted by their peers.
