Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have two wonderful classes. As a Dual Immersion teacher, I am responsible for 58 outstanding students. I want my students to be able to learn the critical life skills of organization and cooperation.
Keeping track of 58 announcements, assignments, and tests is tricky on a good day.
By having organizational cubbies, I will be able to pass the responsibility of the organization to my students. Recess is a great time to develop social/emotional skills as well as cooperation. Sharing is a concept that can be and should be, learned at any age. Let's start now!
My Project
The organizational cubbies will be used to help students not only sort their work, but be responsible for taking home materials such as announcements and completed work. The recess equipment will help students learn deeper social/emotional skills as they negotiate how to: create games, share, and play together.
These are critical life skills that are best learned at an early age.
I will be utilizing the organizational cubbies to not only more effectively disperse information, but continuously develop and foster that sense of independence that these students are so very capable of. These skills are valuable to these students and must be enforced at an early age.
