My students need one laptop and a mouse to learn how to control the mouse and keyboard functions to prepare for other school related tasks in the coming years. Our classroom sets the foundation of learning!
Our school district is made up of a diverse population. The Early Childhood Department focuses on developing the whole child, as well as the families.
The students in my class come from a variety of backgrounds which make them all unique and special.
We have a wonderful classroom of very curious and excited 3 to 5-year-olds who love to come to school to learn and play. Our classroom is made up of students who differ in abilities, ethnic backgrounds, family dynamics and economic challenges. Even though every individual has their own story to tell, in our classroom we are our own special family when we are together. Every family is faced with everyday struggles within their homes and lives. Sometimes these events can often affect our students and sometimes leave lasting consequences both mentally and physically.
My Project
My students could really benefit from having one laptop and one mouse in the classroom to gain knowledge and coordination on how to use it. Our new curriculum has a component of using a mouse and computer daily, and we do not have access to any at all. We are fortunate to have a few iPad minis, but the use and functions are completely different.
A computer would also be great to show our book flix to a small group on a larger screen than an iPad.
Also connecting it to a projector would allow us to have a larger group session and show things we find and share with our students.
