My students need a Ladibug Lumens Document Camera which will allow me to creat an audio visual recording of my classroom lessons and post to their student gradebook.
My math classroom of Algebra 2 Honors and Trigonometry students is a place of challenge and rigor sprinkled with emerging technology to make the math come alive to them. My students have the opportunity to learn and grow as mathematicians in a safe nonthreatening environment.
"This is the first time I have ever really understood math!" are words I get to hear throughout the year.
I delight in seeing them relax in a mathematics classroom and embrace learning from their mistakes, collaborating with their classmates, and having ah-ha moments using technology to see the big picture.
My Project
The Ladibug Lumens Document Camera will allow me to create an audio visual recording of my lessons as I teach in my classroom. At the end of class, I simply upload the saved version of my lesson into the student gradebook. Students who view the video will see the examples being worked out while listening to me explain them.
By pressing play on the video, my students will have a virtual copy of me right there with them.
If a student is absent, he/she can view the lesson missed before ever returning to school. Gone are the days of being "lost" because a student was absent. Or if students do not quite understand the lesson in class, and just need a second opportunity to review the lesson at their own pace, they can view the lesson at home and press pause and rewind as many times as they need to.
The recordability feature of this document camera will be a life changer for my math students. They are very excited about this opportunity and thank you in advance for your support!
