Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember what it was like when you began a new grade level, the excitement and all the important information to absorb?
Our school is located in a high poverty area of LA, with limited resources and getting worse, and at the higher levels, a very high drop-out rate.
Despite these disadvantages, our students know they will learn the necessary skills to help them throughout their educational and professional life, as illustrated in our high API score.
My Project
The requested Vocabulary, Math and Science journals will really help our students stay focused and organized. The journals will be used to record valuable information that corresponds to each respected subject. For example, in Science the students will document their observations, while in Math they will write and evaluate word problems daily. Vocabulary journals will help with their word knowledge, synonyms and antonyms.
Your donation to our project will really help the students get organized and increase their note-taking skills.
They are only fourth graders but we really believe that this is a skill that will help throughout their education and career.
