What an unprecedented time we live in, and teachers and students have pivoted rapidly.
My students are trying to rise to the challenge of learning from home.
Many are staying with other family members while their parents try to work, and home learning is becoming even more of a challenge.
My Project
The start to the next school year is uncertain, and the biggest challenge with at home learning this year has been missing or needed supplies that students either didn't take home with them or did not have. I'd like to eliminate that barrier by putting all needed resources 'in the bag'.
My students will be more successful and engaged if they have all the tools necessary and within reach.
In 4th grade, students, as an example, learn to use rulers for conversions from centimeter to millimeters, inches to fractional parts, as well as develop skill in using a protractor to measure angles. Rulers and protractors are essential to this work. Additionally, white boards allow for individual practice when I am leading a live lesson, and I can see what they've done or when they want to practice from a recorded lesson before actually doing the assigned work.
This project will provide all the materials needed for practicing lessons from either paper packet or from a device or video. Students will be able to practice with the tools that are 'in the bag.'
