The students in my 5th grade classroom are a diverse group of readers, writers, mathematicians, historians, and thinkers from Michigan and the surrounding area. These energetic and enthusiastic boys and girls come to school each day ready to buckle down and get to work on the business of learning! Stop by any day of the week and you will see us problem solving, lending a helping hand to others, and snuggling into the reading area to enjoy a good book!
My Project
One of my goals as a fifth grade teacher is to teach my students the organizational skills they will need as they move on to the middle school the following school year. This year, my students move between my room and two other classrooms. Next year, at the middle school, they will be travelling to a different classroom every class period of the day. Students who have not learned how to be organized will often have a difficult time.
Drawstring bags and pencil pouches will help my students to keep their materials neat and organized, as they travel from room to room!
