I am so blessed to be able to work with my 4th graders. A typical day in our classroom is spent working toward our goals to master the material and have fun while we do it!
My students are very active 9 and 10 year olds.
Many of my students come from families where parents are commuting great distances to provide for their children. We have many free and reduced lunch families that attend our school, and have many that also need support for the basics of food and shelter.
My Project
Every year I like to bring our science curriculum alive for my students. I am hoping to have my students dissect owl pellets this year to be able to show them real life examples of a food chain and food web. It's one thing to read about it in books, but it would make a big impact to be able to have them physically dissect an owl pellet. Thank you for your help.
This project will improve my classroom by allowing my students to physically dissect an owl pellet, using gloves and tweezers.
They will be able to make connections with our world and how science directly links to us (rather than being an abstract concept). Please consider making a difference and helping our class.
