I teach a very active group of Third Graders at a Title I school in Northern California. My students are very hard works who try extremely hard day to be proficient in the Common Core Standards.
I appreciate how hard they work for me each day.
I want to be able to provide for them all the resources they need to be successful each day. They need these resources to stay competitive with 21st century skills they're asked to learn.
My Project
To be able to move around the room and do various personalized tasks, my students need two cubbies units to put their materials. I want my students to have one location where all their items are located. These cubbies would have their math and reading books, clipboards, binders, etc. Right now their items are all over the classroom and it's wasting a lot of time in our schedule. While we're working throughout day, they'll be stopping by their cubbie to pick up their supplies to do the task.
I know my students would be excited to more organized and me too.
I also feel many items wouldn't get lost in the room. They'd just have that one location, their cubbie, to get their materials. Do I think this will have an impact on my room....YES! I'd appreciate any help that you can give us to get these cubbies in our room.
