I'm a kindergarten through fifth grade art teacher in a high poverty area. I teach a range of learning abilities from gifted to special needs.
My students retain information in many different ways, and I find that they remember the most by actually seeing it in class. This is where the art display cards would be greatly beneficial to my visual types of learners who happen to be the majority in my classes. My students love the homemade color wheel that I've displayed for them on the wall using construction paper and they're craving some more visuals around the art space.
My artists love the stimulation and the excitement of the art room and I'm looking to make it even better for them. I'm hoping to provide them with visual displays of the elements and principles of art. These are concepts that are integrated through many subjects on a daily basis. Hundreds of students will have access to these donated materials for years to come. The art display cards are directly related to the Visual Arts Standards that we learn about every day in class. The cards cover a range of topics from the elements of art, the principles of art, careers in art, colors, styles, and painting in art. These art display cards not only show wonderful images but they also have wonderful descriptions on the cards as well.
This type of project is one that will keep on giving for years to come. These cards can be displayed every year for every one of my students to look at and learn from.
You will make it possible for my students to have an invigorating, exciting, and inspiring space to make their creations.
