My Students
Our school is sixty percent free or reduced price lunch and filled with beautiful diversity. We have representatives from thirty-three different countries across the world.
We have close to five hundred students ranging from pre-k through fifth grade, all coming from mixed backgrounds.
Our classrooms are inclusive, meaning special education students will be found in every single room.
I teach a multi-age classroom that includes students in third, fourth, and fifth grade. The learning that occurs between all three grades is beautiful!
My Project
Electricity is one of the units in the fourth grade curriculum.
It is no fun to learn about electricity and not be able to manipulate it or experience the difference of an open and closed circuit.
These hands on materials will allow students to be able to have these experiences and make a deeper understanding of the curriculum and how they can apply to real life situations.
Students will use Makey Makey Circuits, Squishy Circuits, and Snap Circuits to explore electricity and connect it with content from a book that they can use in a cross-curricular situation in literacy. We look forward to having these items in the classroom.
