My students are from a Title I school in the suburbs of Detroit. The Transitional Kindergarten program gives children from all cultures and various incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district before going to kindergarten. My energetic TK students enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore.
They love to read books, draw pictures, use online programs, build structures, and compare, sort, and pretend play throughout the day.
They light up as they proudly identify letters and discover sounds. They love to learn!
My Project
The drying rack I am requesting already has a place waiting for it in our classroom. My students work hard on their creative projects that allow them to further engage with our curriculum. When they are done creating, they put their projects on the floor to dry since there is not enough table space to put the projects on. I am always worried that someone is going to accidentally step on or trip over a project throughout the day.
Your donation to this project will allow the students’ projects to dry in a safe place until the are ready to be displayed or sent home to be enjoyed.
The drying rack will let students take home their projects as they intended them to be instead of smudged or ruined because they were drying on the floor.
