My Students

My students are an excited young class of kindergartners! They are very ambitious and curious about the world around them! Many of the students at our school come from high poverty families.

We are a Title I school and 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, so most of our families do not have the means to help financially in their child's education.

For many of my students English is not their first language, but we have started our year with enthusiasm and are ready to overcome any obstacle in our way.

My Project

My project is for a teacher’s easel and magnetic felt storyboard. My kindergarteners do a lot of learning on our carpet during several circle times through out the day. Circle time is teacher directed and student assisted and uses a teaching easel! We read big books, re-enact stories, do math problems with manipulatives, and so much more. This board would give a great way to organize all our circle time materials and give my students what they need to interact during learning. Students come to the board and help the teacher retell stories with our felt characters and work out math problems. This board is exactly what we need so everyone on the carpet can see what we are doing while keeping our materials organized!
