Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are bright and energetic young kids who make coming to work a privilege for me. Some of my students either are on the Autism spectrum or have an emotional disorder. They all live in the city and grew up in Worcester. Some of their family members are immigrants and being an immigrant myself I appreciate how much their parents value education.
My school is designed to meet the needs of all students regardless of diagnosis or background.
We strive to create an environment that values every individual. I work alongside colleagues that are able to collaborate and help anyone as much as they can. I am very fortunate to have the staff and students that I do.
My Project
My students need to have specific resources during Circle Time in order for me to best meet their needs. The easel will provide visual support for my ESL learners and allow me to write the daily expectations for my students to in order to set them up for success.
Circle Time is only successful if it is organized for students!
The rug allows students to easily find a spot and makes them feel they always have a spot in my classroom. Lastly, the calendar is not only to help initiate Morning Meetings but also help students with basic Math skills as well as verbal skills.
