It's All About the Music

Help me give my students the love and joy of music. Grades K-2 begin each class with rhythm sticks which helps with movement, keeping the beat, and starting music class in a positive manner.

My Students

My students thrive in music class. It serves not only as music education, but character development. For many of the students, this is their only chance to be creative and explore/listen to music. Students perform on Orff Instruments, recorders, 1/2 size guitars. I am in need of more Orff Instruments and mallets. The instrument that would serve best is the alto xylophone, however, soprano and bass xylophones would be very helpful so that every child get to use an instrument individually.

My Project

The sticks we have now are over fifteen years old and are splintering. The new sticks will allow them to perform with the sticks and not get splinters. It is essential for the younger students to have nice instruments to perform on. The bright colors of the sticks entice the children to explore the world of music. The beat is the cornerstone of music and needs to be developed in younger students. Thank you for your support of our fine music program.
