My Students

In my classroom we dance, sing, play instruments, and experience music hands-on!

My students love to explore music in a variety of ways.

I teach kindergarten through 5th grade which creates a huge need for resources. Currently, my primary students receive music twice a week for 40 minutes and the intermediate students receive music once a week for 40 minutes. In addition we also have a 5th grade strings program that meets for one third of the year twice a week for 40 minutes.

My Project

With the increase in class sizes our set of 25 ukuleles doesn't provide an instrument for every student in the class. We need five more ukuleles to let every student have an instrument to play during instruction.

We are also in need of a C bass bar to accompany music in the classroom as well as during performances.

The benefit of a bass bar is that it is compatible with lessons in kindergarten through fifth grade and even works with our school marimba ensemble.

Students will use these materials to write their own music, accompany songs, and learn music concepts.
