My Students
Drill and practice is boring and just doesn't work anymore.
I currently work with forty-five wonderful and respectful English Language Learners.
They are eager students who embrace education, and demonstrate a willingness to succeed in spite of their personal and academic challenges. They're fantastic little people who will one day become great Americans.
My Project
Learning to read is fun, not boring, and I want my to students to understand that. So, what better way to peak interest and motivate reluctant readers then with engaging reading comprehension activities and games.
If funded, my students will be able to work independently or in pairs on exploring the difference between fact and opinion, identifying main idea and details, drawing conclusions, learning to spell, and acquiring new vocabulary words with the At-My-Desk Reading Comprehension Activity Library, Reading Comprehension Folder Games, Mastering Basic Skills Small-Group Reading Kit, Building Comprehension Skills Activity Folders and magnetic letters.
