In my school, I never go through a day without a student's big smile and happy wave. My students come from a high poverty area where resources are stretched thin. We are a Title I school where 83% of my students receive free or reduced-priced lunch.
Often, my students struggle in school and really deserve the supplies they need to meet the standards they will be tested on.
They are all visual learners and need concrete examples to help them understand and comprehend the skills they are learning.
My students will come to me this year with very little or no knowledge of letters and numbers. With the ice cream scoop, and the pop to 20 games they will lots of have fun ways to practice these skills in stations. The magnetic numbers and counters will be used in whole group mini lessons and in small group for students to really visualize the concept. My students will use the letter bingo, dot journal and magnetic tracing cards to practice identifying and forming their letters. These important skills are the foundation for all of their future learning. Please help me provide them with materials that they will enjoy and learn from.
