My amazing kiddos are a diverse group of very gifted and quirky thinkers ages seven to eleven. I am in a program that has identified them for their unique ability to be shakers (ideas) and movers (leaders) of the future.
I consider my teaching job is to ' fan the flame' and ignite their interests and passion.
It is a privilege to inspire these young thinkers. Knowing this immense responsibility , at times, I am challenged to keep up with their need for technology and modern devises!
In a world of digital imagery and technical scientific discovery the current science teacher is challenged to bring this dynamic into their classroom. These digital microscopes will facilitate this type of learning in my classroom.
These tools will give my students the ability to turn learning about the natural world from ordinary to extraordinary.
Students will be able to observe details in function and structure of organisms and everyday objects. These digital microscopes not only magnify objects but they take a digital photo and opportunity for students to keep records of their discoveries. I want to not only encourage observations but translate the experience into a written format. It will make science and writing come alive and intrigue young learners to investigate the world around them. It may seem like a small thing but in my estimation could be life changing!
