Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are incredible. I have 24 motivated English Language Learners who are eager to learn. My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds with limited resources available to them. We are a Title I, Performance Improvement school with a 100% free lunch program. Many parents work two jobs and are struggling to support their families.
Though their environment may not be conducive to learning, my students have an insatiable love of learning.
I know that if we provide them with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they can experience success.
My Project
Have you ever taken the long way to get somewhere? Well that’s how the hard drive is acting in the classroom. It’s old, slow, and ready to go to greener pastures. Just like a car, it’s parts are old and it’s time to trade it in. The new drive is faster, up to date, and reliable.
Digital storytelling requires the children to go online and save work.
Digital storytelling combines traditional story writing with technology. It allows students to tell stories through voice, text, images, audio, and video. It’s not an easy process so work needs to be saved. We want to make sure that when we return the next day all our information is saved on the hard drive. Now with a drive that is fast, there no stopping us.
