My Students

Our educational philosophy is based on the three R’s – Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships. Rigorous coursework, relevant learning activities, and meaningful relationships with teachers and other staff members are all necessary to ensure that every student is successful and prepared for college. This is a bold proposition, but one that is necessary to meet the educational needs of students in a 21st-century society. The students who attend our school come from a variety of backgrounds but are united in a clear goal- to be college-ready and to become a positive member of his or her community.

My Project

As our students continue to grow, so does the need for more instruments for this and her performances! Temple blocks are used in holiday music, they create fun soundscapes for students in the general music classroom, and they add an extra element to our band performances. In general music, we are always looking for different ways to make our poetry come alive. Students perform a classroom play every 9 weeks. Any instrument that can be used to bring our "pit orchestra" alive during these performances is welcome and appreciated by all who attend. The cost of instruments, repairs, and travel are significant. Any help is greatly appreciated!
