My Students

I am a public school teacher with a room full of captivating individuals. My 5th grade students enjoy book clubs, being read to, and creating their own stories. They are fully engaged in reading and writing lessons and have made great strides in becoming stronger in those areas. My students have personality and a flair for entertainment. They challenge me to find ways to make learning "fresh".

My classroom is a place of discovery and inquiry through multiple sources.

I strive to bring learning to life by making it accessible to all students. We understand that learning from each other is just as important as learning from published authors. Technology is a strong component of our classroom as well and I am always looking for ways to infuse it into the learning process.

My Project

In our classroom, problem solving and building our reading comprehension have been the focal points of our lessons. Visuals help to bring lessons to life and make learning accessible for all students. The use of an ELMO TT document camera will bring visuals into the lesson and make learning more engaging.

The use of the document camera will allow all of my students the opportunity to access pieces of text that will be used to reinforce the lesson goal.

The camera will allow me to show all students and enlarged version of a piece of text or various writing samples in a way that will make it possible for me to focus them on specific areas. In addition, the ability to display the information for all to see will cut down on paper waste since there will be no need for multiple copies.
