This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

These past years have been some of the toughest years for both teachers and students, due to the stress and expectations that have been placed on us while we are still working on recovering from a lost year of school and a year and a half of online learning. My class is learning to express their feelings and emotions about how the pandemic has affected them and process the changes that took place. Many of them have never had a normal school year. Lockdown happened during kindergarten or first grade and every year since has been a pressure cooker of trying to catch up. Your help will be an invaluable resource to help us in keeping our expectations high but reasonable. Fidget toys and sensory items have been shown time and time again to help students with focusing and expressing their feeling in a safe way.
