My Students

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and families. They come to school every day full of life and personality. They are always excited to learn. They love hands-on, engaging lessons.

As a teacher, I strive to give them the most exciting learning environment.

Individual, partner and small group learning happens everyday with my students. Although, only in first grade, my students are very independent workers. They are inquisitive, smart and witty! They love to discover new things. They amaze me everyday!

My Project

My students learn through many different hands-on lessons, projects and experiments. Many times we don't have the technology needed to connect to lessons, videos, examples, etc. that we need to make the most of our learning.

We recently did a unit titled "Are spiders insects?" My first graders had the opportunity to research in order to find out the answer to this question on their own.

If we had more iPads in our classroom, they would have been able to use them along with the books, posters and articles we used. The ability to use technology is essential in today's world!

iPads will never be used in place of teaching and learning. They will be used to enhance what we are doing in every subject area.
