Kindergarten is a magical place where our youngest learners develop the foundational skills needed for future grades. They come in excited and eager to learn. My 25 students come from diverse home environments and I want to provide them with a comfortable, safe, and innovative school environment. My kindergarten students have a variety of learning needs and come to school with different academic abilities, so it is important that I differentiate for them. I want to provide a learning space that allows me to meet the individual needs of my diverse learners.
My Project
With an increased student to iPad ratio, my students will be able to choose how they wish to demonstrate their learning through the use of different media, such as video, text, images, and audio.
Worldwide competition for employment means that today’s students must not only be well-educated and creative problem solvers, but that they must be equipped to collaborate globally as well.
Some of the specific activities that will take place in my classroom involve using iPads with the charging station and cases to dictate writing, creating math videos using SeeSaw learning journal, and recording informational videos using Chatterpix. The addition of modern technology to the classroom for students in such a developmental stage will set the tone for success and equip them with the tools to thrive in a quickly progressing educational and technological world.
