Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first year teacher for Special Education M/S. My job is very rewarding and does come with some challenges.
Sensory tools would also be very useful for our hands on student needs.
The kids are wonderful, they are what the whole thing is about. I have re-arranged the classroom furniture several times to make space and allotments for particular students. Some specialized items will make a hug difference. I would like to give these young people what they need to be at their highest potential daily, weekly and annually.
My Project
The students need sensory input. We will be able to use some of these items on a weekly basis with the students so they can have a routine of a sensory diet. The intention is to give the students what they need to be comfortable and happy at their school so they can absorb as much of their education as possible. Taking care of their sensory needs may seem simple but to them it is a world of difference.
