This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are bright, compassionate, and full of curiosity. They absolutely love hands-on engaging activities, exploring new ideas, and trying new things. They come to school each day ready to learn. They want to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy in order to grow both personally and academically.
My students truly are the drive behind my passion for teaching.
My school is located in Baltimore City in north-central Maryland on the Patapsco River close to where it empties into the Chesapeake Bay. As an inner-city public charter school, my students come from across the city from some of the best and worst neighborhoods. I strive to provide equal opportunities for the entire class, that will further their education and create life long learners.
My Project
My students need to be able to read relevant non fiction texts. Time for students provides students with bright interesting pictures and text that they can read! Students will be engaged and eager to learn more about the world around them!
Put magazines in my student's little hands!
So much of our learning takes place on screens. I would love for my students to have the ability to read and take home magazines that are at their reading level. Many of my students do not have a lot of books at home and this is a chance to send something home with them!
