My students come from a small community, a country setting, migrant families and some totally Spanish speaking households. They range in their abilities to speak English and they have a variety of extracurricular interests from soccer, baseball and football, to Bible clubs, scouting and singing. They love to eat, talk with friends and learn fun facts about so many different things.
My students have a passion for their school, a growth mind set and are trying to live the vision of our school which is "Preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s possibilities" Fourth grade is a year of excitement and change and I sincerely hope that you will choose to be a part of it!
When students walk into my classroom and we all work together, I feel all things are possible and development is limitless while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives but I can certainly place them all in an environment where they can feel as equals in managing their skills, experiences and involvement during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I hope to inspire each and everyone.
My Project
My students are really looking forward to reading A Series of Unfortunate Events. So having a book set in the classroom would be so helpful for all of us.
Many of my students have not started reading this series yet, but have heard about it from book recomandations from their classmates.
They cannot wait to read the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans -- Violet, Klaus, and Sunny -- and their extraordinary encounters with the devious Count Olaf. They want know how Count Olaf, who will not stop at anything, will get his hands on the orphans inheritance or will he fail. They can not wait to find out how this could happen!
On the other hand, some of my students have read the first few books in the series and have requested to read what comes next and how Count Olaf and his many dastardly plans and disguises continue to try to get the orphans wealth. So having the whole set would be amazing for all.
