My Students

Our elementary students grow and learn at a Pre K-5 rural elementary school. Being in a rural community, we would like to bring opportunities that they may not be exposed to otherwise. They are wonderful children who are eager to expand their experiences and minds. We are partners in our journey through the years they spend with us.

Being a part of their journey, I have learned from my many years of teaching that students need to be connected to what they are learning.

My Project

My students will use the mini figures to create their own worlds with the Lego blocks we already have, while keeping in mind that their resources are limited. When my students begin their unit for stop-motion animation and digital storytelling, they will have to be financially responsible because they will be allotted certain amount of "money" in which to purchase their supplies. By having this added aspect of limited supply, I believe my students will be more mindful of what is being used and wasted.
