Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are so full of life, love, and energy. They may not have a lot at home but they sure bring their hearts, full of love and passion, to school every day.

I am making the move from 6th grade to 2nd grade and my team has decided to rotate classes for Social Studies, Science, and Math. I am so lucky to be able to be teaching STEM or STEAM to all 2nd grader at our school!
My Project
This project will allow me to provide exploration opportunities for my students. STEM and/or STEAM is so important to boost student creativity and productivity. Legos, Play Doh, Magnetic Blocks, and other hands on building materials will allow me to host STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) centers in my classroom.
The US Department of Education reports that the number of STEM/STEAM jobs in the United States will grow by 14% from 2010 to 2020, growth that the BLS terns as “much faster “ than the national average of 5-8 % across all job sectors.
We must provide students with opportunities to build and fail rather than tell them what will and will not work. For example, if students are able to build models of the three house the Three Little Pigs Houses they will develop a much deeper understanding of why the brick house was much more sturdy. Help me provide my students with the hands on learning opportunities that will give them the skills they need for the future. The students of today are the leaders of tomorrow.
