My Students

My students are the ones that may not enjoy coming to school. The ones who aren't turning in their assignments on time, or even at all. My students are the ones who you would label as "difficult".

My students are the ones that capture your heart when they come tell you about the test they just passed.

My students are the ones that seek you out to say 'hi'. My students are the ones that stop by to keep me updated about their day.

My Project

My students thoroughly enjoy avoiding sitting. Rather than battling this, I've accepted the need for flexible seating. Too often these kids are constrained to sitting for 6 hours a day. I love allowing students the opportunity to move and learn about the room as they please, as long as it doesn't create problems for others.

These pillows will allow students to create islands of learning when in my room.

Student focus increases when they have the option to move about the room. However, sitting on a hard concrete floor does not sound appealing to most. Adding pillows, giant pillows, to my classroom will allow more learning to occur.
