Help me give my students get books for our classroom library, book clubs and guided reading, like El Deafo. #ISeeMe books. Plus, some books for my reluctant readers, like Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
I have 29 amazing students. Many of my students are refugees from all around the world. 90 percent of my students live in poverty. We are a diverse group, who love learning, our community school, reading books, learning American history, reading novels and making connections.
We are an active group of learners who have a growth mindset and love learning.
We use Class Dojo and track our points for prizes and activities.
Our favorite thing is to play soccer and incorporate it into our learning. Thank you so much for considering our classroom.
My Project
These books will help add to our diverse library of books and keep us reading all year long. We read any moment we can. We track our reading in our data binders.
I want our classroom library, our book clubs and guided reading to be filled with books that have characters that look like us.
For my sometimes reluctant readers: Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory get us reading and developing habits to fall in love with reading.
Thank you for considering our classroom. We love to read and are always looking for new exciting books.
