My Students

Do you remember being read to as a young child? Well, hearing a book, is the first step to becoming and independent reader.

My class consists of 28, second graders.

Our school is a fine and performing arts student centered environment which stresses authentic, collaborative and reflective experiences that encourage all children to reach their fullest potential. The students are all eager to learn and have vivid imaginations.

My Project

I am requesting a set of ipod's that I can use to create a mobile listening center. This center will be used daily by all of the students in my classroom. Many of my students love listening to stories, but might not be ready to read them on their own. These ipods will be used so that the students can listen and follow along to story.

This is important because by listening to the story being read and following along, the students will be learning reading habits that will help develop them into independent readers, which is the ultimate goal!
